V prípade štúdia NOBUS sú to vlastne traja v jednom, ale dámy mierne prevažujú - Markéta Nováková a Veronika Selingerová...

femme: Ako by ste niekoľkými slovami popísali svoju keramiku a porcelán niekomu, kto vás nepozná?

Markéta Nováková: V mojej práci jednoznačne prevažuje úžitková tvorba a mojím najobľúbenejším materiálom je porcelán. Keď navrhujem nový tvar, či už stolovej súpravy, alebo interiérového doplnku, pracujem so základnými geometrickými tvarmi. Zabáva ma hra foriem, pričom v ich kombináciách, prienikoch a prechodoch hľadám nové tvary. Alfou a omegou mojej práce je čistá forma a precízne remeslo.

Veronika Selingerová: Je na prvý pohľad jasné, že nie som dizajnérka v pravom slova zmysle. Som skôr typ „výtvarnícky“, ale priťahuje ma prelínanie voľného s úžitkovým a naopak.


femme: Porcelán alebo keramika? A prečo?

Markéta Nováková: Porcelán alebo keramika? Jednoznačne porcelán. Dávam prednosť klasickému tvrdému živcovému porcelánu, ktorý je najdokonalejším a najušľachtilejším keramickým materiálom. Má priam fantastické vlastnosti, je biely, v tenkej vrstve priehľadný a vrstva glazúry je dôkladne natavená na porcelánový črep, je teda dokonale nenasiakavý. Som fascinovaná prácou s ním, rada skúšam jeho možnosti a hranice. Snažím sa ho pochopiť a ovládnuť, veď riešenie každého nového predmetu je vlastne výzvou k hľadaniu a nachádzanie riešenia. Každý materiál a tvar si vyžaduje značné úsilie, mnohé testovania a osobitý prístup pri tvorbe prototypu. Je to zdĺhavý a náročný proces, pri ktorom človek síce predpokladá, ale do dôsledku nevie, ako sa bude nový tvar pri vypaľovaní správať. Poznať materiál dokonale, aby som dokázala čo najlepšie predvídať výsledok, to je pre mňa veľká výzva a cieľ zároveň.

Veronika Selingerová: Voľba síce nie je jednoduchá ale myslím, že ani nie je treba robiť prísne rozdiely. Keramický materiál, ku ktorému zaraďujeme aj porcelánovú hmotu, má svoje špecifiká týkajúce sa technologického procesu i výtvarného jazyka. Kvôli časovej náročnosti, potrebnej na jeho spracovanie, môže byť pre niekoho obmedzujúci, pre mňa je to však jedinečný materiál a zdĺhavá cesta k výsledku ma neodradzuje.


femme: Ste na začiatku svojej profesijnej cesty, tvorba malých sérií je nevyhnutnosťou, čo vás „živí“?

Markéta Nováková: Momentálne ma „živí“ pedagogická činnosť, keďže pôsobím v Ateliéri keramiky na VŠVU ako asistentka. Zároveň som externou doktorantskou študentkou a snažím sa venovať vlastnej tvorbe ako členka štúdia Nobus. V budúcnosti by som rada všetko lepšie skĺbila, teda svoju vlastnú tvorbu s pedagogickou..... Takúto „kombináciu“ považujem za ideálnu, pretože ma práca so študentmi uspokojuje, napĺňa a zároveň sa v tomto procese učím aj ja. A to ma úspešne posúva ďalej....

Veronika Selingerová: V posledných troch rokoch mi väčšinu času „zhltne“ doktorantské štúdium na VŠVU a taktiež čiastočné pedagogické pôsobenie na UP v Olomouci. Preto svoje práce prezentujem najmä prostredníctvom výstav a rôznych dizajnérskych prehliadok, takže sa v súčasnosti predaju príliš nevenujem. Samozrejme, ak návštevník výstavy prejaví záujem, vždy sa vieme dohodnúť. Lenže, koľko ľudí navštevuje výstavy? Preto intenzívne zvažujem otázku ponuky pre širšiu verejnosť.


femme: Máte za sebou prvé zaujímavé skúsenosti z praxe, aké je z nich poučenie?

Markéta Nováková: Vlastne to ani nebola spolupráca, ale realizácia študentskej práce. A v tom bol aj hlavný problém. Ale, aj keď som z toho nemala žiadne finančné ohodnotenie, skúsenosť to bola užitočná. Odmenou mi je, keď môžem vidieť svoju prácu vo výklade obchodov a teší ma skutočnosť, že sa predáva predmet, ktorý som vymyslela a vytvorila jeho prototyp pre Český porcelán a.s. Dubí. Zásadnou skúsenosťou bola pre mňa účasť na Designbloku v Prahe v roku 2008, kde sme ako štúdio Nobus zahájili svoju činnosť, bola to totiž naša prvá spoločná akcia. Ďalším zaujímavým poučením bola výstava Yuong, White and Fresh v Bratislave na prelome rokov 2009/2010, na ktorej sme sa zároveň podieľali aj organizačne. Každá účasť na výstave, prezentácii či súťaži je dobrá a slúži zároveň ako spätná väzba, ktorá tvorbe len pomáha.

Veronika Selingerová: Počas svojho vysokoškolského štúdia som mala veľké šťastie a mohla som sa na štyri mesiace „pozrieť“ do Texasu. V tom istom roku som taký istý čas strávila aj v tureckom Izmire. V krátkom čase som teda žila v dvoch odlišných kultúrach a bol by v tom čert, keby to na mne nezanechalo žiadne stopy. Po návrate som svoje dojmy spracovala v diplomovej práci na tému „Západ a Východ“ do kolekcie nádob. O niečo neskôr som mala možnosť navštíviť aj Istambul a koncom budúceho roku plánujem výstavu na spomínanú tému, ktorá by mala byť súčasťou mojej dizertačnej práce. Môžem všetkým, ktorí budú mať možnosť vycestovať na dlhšiu dobu, než je len obligátnych pár dovolenkových týždňov, vrelo doporučiť, aby využili každú príležitosť. Otvorí im to myseľ a obohatí dušu.


femme: Ako ďalej v NOBUSe?

Markéta Nováková: Vyhliadky do budúcnosti? Mám v pláne intenzívne pokračovať v práci na všetkých „úrovniach“... Pre štúdio Nobus by sme radi vybudovali spoločný priestor - ateliér a naďalej intenzívne tvorili pod touto značkou. Máme v pláne organizovať rôzne výtvarné akcie, prostredníctvom ktorých by sme propagovali nielen svoju prácu, ale aj súčasný mladý dizajn.

Veronika Selingerová: Priala by som si, aby sme tvorili v spoločnom ateliéri, a aby naše snahy a aktivity našli priaznivú odozvu vo verejnosti, pretože pre ňu sú pripravované. A tiež, aby si Nobus našiel svoje miesto na slnku ako dobrá značka mladého dizajnu, kvality a originality.
