Je to už niekoľko týždňov, čo u nás začala "strašiť" nepríjemná žalúdočná viróza, ktorú si možno ľahko pomýliť so zažívacími ťažkosťami...

Absencia horúčky pri žalúdočnej viróze často spôsobuje zámenu so zažívacími ťažkosťami. Postihnutý s vírusovým ochorením bojuje približne tri týždne, v priebehu ktorých jeho potiaže striedavo ustupujú a opäť sa vracajú.
Prvú fázu ochorenia charakterizujú hnačky alebo zvracanie; prípadne zvýšená teplota, ktorá postupne klesá. Pacientovi trpiacemu hnačkou treba zabezpečiť dostatočný prísun tekutín v podobe horkého čaju alebo šťavy z čučoriedkovej zaváraniny. Zvracajúci pacient je zvyčajne schopný prijímať tekutinu iba po dúškoch, v podobe nesýtenej minerálky alebo coca-coly. Pokiaľ ide o stravovanie, v oboch prípadoch sa odporúča jeden až dva dni trvajúca hladovka s osoleným vývarom z ryže (5 krát za deň). Následne možno pacientovi ponúknuť takzvanú šetriacu stravu, ktorú tvorí ľahko stráviteľné jedlo v malých dávkach (bez studených a horúcich extrémov). Táto diéta musí šetriť žalúdočnú sliznicu a črevá (mechanicky, chemicky, tepelne); energetická hodnota jedla však má byť vyvážená.

1. a 2. deň: Ryžový vývar
Potrebujete: 100g ryže, vodu, soľ a 1 lyžicu masla.
Postup: V 0,5 litra studenej vody varte ryžu až do rozvarenia. Potom ryžu pretrite cez sitko, osoľte a ochuťte maslom. (Hustotu vývaru regulujte množstvom vody. Ak sa vyparí príliš veľa vody, zrieďte polievku vlažnou prevarenou vodou.)

3. deň: Šetriaca strava
Raňajky: Osladený čierny čaj, sucháre.
Desiata: Šťava zo sladkého ovocia.
Obed: Jednoduchá zemiaková polievka, pstruh pripravený v pare, zemiaková kaša.
Olovrant: Čaj s mliekom (3 diely čaju a 1 diel mlieka).
Večera: Vaječná sadlina, pretretá dusená mrkva.

4. deň: Šetriaca strava
Raňajky: Čaj s mliekom, staršie pečivo s maslom.
Desiata: Ošúpané postrúhané jablko s banánom.
Obed: Maslová polievka z póru, zaprávané kurča v koreňovej zelenine, ryža, jablkový kompót s citrónovou šťavou.
Olovrant: Čaj s mliekom, staršie pečivo.
Večera: Ryžový nákyp, čerešňový kompót.
